Siti Gusti Ningrum, originally began its journey as a dedicated International Office (KUI). It was established to accommodate the growing interest of international students, with a strong commitment to maximizing service quality and providing comprehensive academic support. Under her leadership, the office established a solid foundation grounded in service excellence and dedicated care for global students.
As international student enrollment grew significantly, the unit evolved into the Partnership and International Office, expanding its mandate beyond foreign student services to manage and facilitate strategic national and international collaborations. Today, operating under its core identity as a service-oriented hub, the office acts as a vital bridge connecting Universitas Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya with global opportunities and institutional partnerships worldwide.

The Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship programme offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for qualified students from developing countries to pursue higher education in Indonesia. The programme supports international students at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels while promoting academic collaboration, intercultural understanding, and stronger connections among developing countries.
Since 2026, UWKS has proudly become one of the host universities for KNB Scholarship recipients, welcoming at least nine international students from Asian and African countries to our campus. Their presence enriches the UWKS academic community and strengthens our commitment to becoming a more diverse, inclusive, and internationally connected university.

DARMASISWA is an Indonesian Government scholarship programme that provides international students with the opportunity to study Bahasa Indonesia, Indonesian arts, and culture at selected universities across Indonesia. More than an academic programme, DARMASISWA is designed to strengthen cultural understanding, friendship, and people-to-people connections between Indonesia and the international community.
Since 2024, UWKS has proudly served as a DARMASISWA host university. With its strong identity and commitment to Indonesian cultural values, UWKS provides an engaging environment for international students to discover Indonesia from within.
At UWKS, DARMASISWA participants can experience Indonesian culture through activities and learning experiences such as gamelan, Indonesian history, language, arts, traditions, and local cultural experiences.

The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme is a flagship capacity-building initiative of the Government of India, established in 1964. It provides short- and medium-term training opportunities across a wide range of fields for participants from more than 160 countries. The programme offers thousands of fully funded in-person training opportunities at leading institutions and training centres across India.
UWKS actively supports its students and lecturers in accessing this international opportunity. From 2024–2026, UWKS has sent at least six delegates to participate in ITEC short courses in India, representing the university in international learning and capacity-building programmes.

Not every international experience has to last a semester. Through Student Mobility programmes, UWKS provides opportunities for students to participate in short-term academic, cultural, and international activities with partner universities and institutions overseas.
UWKS students have participated in mobility programmes in various countries, including Malaysia and Kazakhstan, gaining first-hand international exposure while developing intercultural awareness, academic perspectives, and global networks.
