Indonesian Tropical Veterinary and Culture Program
Program Duration
10 Months
1 September 2026 – 1 July 2027
The program is designed as a comprehensive long-term immersion experience combining academic learning, cultural activities, field exposure, and community engagement throughout the academic year.
Program Highlights
Participants will experience interdisciplinary learning through:
- Indonesian Language Classes (BIPA)
- Indonesian Cultural Immersion
- Community Service Activities
- Educational Field Trips
- Food Safety Introduction
- Edible Bird’s Nest Industry Exposure
The program emphasizes experiential and community-based learning to help participants understand the interaction between animal health, human health, environment, and culture in Indonesia.
Academic and Cultural Experiences
Indonesian Language and Cultural Immersion
Through BIPA (Bahasa Indonesia for Foreign Speakers) classes, participants will learn practical Indonesian language skills while engaging directly with Indonesian society and culture.
Cultural immersion activities may include:
- Indonesian traditional dance workshops
- Indonesian food culture experience
- Batik and local arts activities
- Traditional market visits
- Cultural performances and exchange sessions
Community Service and Social Engagement
Participants will interact directly with local communities through educational and social service activities that reflect the Indonesian spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation).
Programs may include:
- Educational outreach
- Public health awareness
- Community cultural interaction
- Eid al-Adha qurban community service activities
Educational Field Trip
One of the signature experiences of this program is educational field exposure to unique Indonesian industries, including:
- Edible Bird’s Nest (Swiftlet) Industry
This field trip provide participants with direct understanding of Indonesian biodiversity, sustainability, and socio-economic practices.

The program is suitable for:
- Foreign nationals.
- Having completed secondary education or its equivalent.
- Age requirements: must be at least 18 years old, with maximum age limit of 32 years old (special for this year).
- Having the ability to communicate in English (proven by English Language Proficiency Certificate: TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or OTHER CERTIFICATE if applicable).
- In good health condition as proven by a Medical Certificate.
- Having basic knowledge of the applied field.
- Having strong interest in learning the applied field.
- Not registered as Darmasiswa’s Alumni.
- Not registered as Kemitraan Negara Berkembang (KNB) Scholarship’s Alumni.
- Not currently studying in Indonesia.
- Not currently working in Indonesia.
